The evening before admission - What you need to Know!
-
DO NOT give your pet any food after 7 pm on the night prior to the
procedure
-
DO NOT give your pet any water after midnight. This does
not hold true for all animals (for example, rabbits or geriatric and diabetic
patients), or for all procedures (for example, for endoscopy there is
additional fasting). The receptionist will go over the specific instructions
with you when you schedule your appointment. If you have any questions do
not hesitate to call (717)-258-4575.
Surgery admission time is between 8:30 to 9:00 am
on the day of the procedure. If your pet will be having any non-surgical
procedure(s) the admission time is the same.
What should you expect at Admission Time - more than just "dropping off"
your pet?
-
your pet will receive a complete examination by the veterinarian.
-
your pet will be weighed.
-
your pet will have his/her temperature taken.
-
answering of any pre-operative questions.
Please Note - if our admission time does not suit
your work schedule, let our receptionist know when you are scheduling your
appointment. We allow you to bring your pet in the night before the surgery
at no additional charge to you.
